Products

HB Plug: Gear Interface

The Hollobus gear interface is designed to meet the requirements of article 110.14(c) of the NEC – an historically overlooked requirement for derating at connections with cable bus; requires the use of a much larger cablebus system to be code compliant.

The interface allows a Superiorbus product to connect to the interface at a 90 deg C free air rating, and no more derating for your low voltage cable bus applications reduces system requirements by as much as half!.

The Hollobus interface connects to the gear connections with a flexible interface on one end and has a 90-degree C rated cable connection on the other end. These systems are designed to be dropped into place and bolted up with minimal labour.

Expansion / Contraction Systems

This design is a High-Rise Tap Box; typically installed every third floor, featuring pre-configured load tap points to serve floors above and below.


Proprietary expansion and contraction systems accommodate multiple movement modalities, including sway, compression, seismic activity, and short-circuit events, effectively addressing any design challenge.

Often overlooked in the past, more and more inspectors are aware and checking for derating compliance. This white paper—coming FEB 2025—will outline the scope of this code and the numerous ways it can be misread, leading to a possible non-energization.
